Imamiah

Imamiah is the 52nd angel of the Shem HaMephorash, the great divine Name of 72 names drawn from verses 19, 20, and 21 of Exodus 14, each containing 72 Hebrew letters. He presides over 15°–20° of Sagittarius within the choir of Principalities, governed by Haniel, the archangel of grace and divine love transmitted to communal and social structures. In Christian Kabbalah, the Principalities watch over human institutions and intercede for those confronting the rigidities of established order. Imamiah embodies within this choir the liberating face of grace: not the gentleness that consoles, but the strength that breaks what constrains.

According to the tradition as synthesized by Ambelain and Haziel, Imamiah is the angel of liberation and inner power. He is particularly invoked by those living a sense of imprisonment — whether from difficult external circumstances or interior prisons built of repeated habits or accumulated guilt. He is credited with granting the soul the strength to rise again, to face its failures squarely and extract from them not shame but the material of a rebirth. Under Sagittarius of fire, he acts as a catalyst of momentum. He is also protector of prisoners in the literal sense, of exiles, and of those subjected to institutional injustices.

To approach Imamiah in meditation is to explore what, within one's own interior, still holds back and prevents free movement. He invites identification of the chains one has forged for oneself — hardened judgments, limiting beliefs, repeated self-narratives — and the understanding that the first liberation is always interior. His presence is that of a non-violent force that does not rupture but dissolves, slowly and with a patience that never abandons. He teaches that true freedom begins the moment one stops waiting for the world to change before allowing oneself to change.
