Ieiazel

Ieiazel is the 40th name of the Shem HaMephorash, the system of 72 divine names extracted from the three verses of Exodus 14:19-21 by trilinear interlacing. He belongs to the choir of Powers, under the governance of prince Camael, and reigns over 15° to 20° of Libra. The sign of Libra, at its midpoint, touches on art as a path of reconciliation between opposites — shadow and light, pain and beauty, individual experience and universal resonance. Ieiazel is precisely the angel of this alchemical passage, the one who stands at the threshold between what has been endured and what can be made from it.

Ieiazel is the angel of artists, writers, and musicians who seek in creation a form of healing and liberation both for themselves and for those who will receive their work. Tradition attributes to him the consolation of prisoners — in both literal and metaphorical senses — and the deliverance from inner confinements: dependencies, obsessions, profound melancholic states that have settled in like unwelcome tenants. He is invoked by those traversing heartbreak, creative grief, or a dark night of the soul, for he carries the promise that joy can be reborn from the very ashes of suffering. He also favors the concentration of the artist, faithfulness to their vision, and the faithful transmission of the message through the chosen form, whether word, sound, or image.

To meditate with Ieiazel is to allow oneself to create without prior judgment — to let out what seeks a form, even if imperfect, even if painful, even if misunderstood at first glance. His breath says that any inner traversal honestly expressed becomes a light for another who travels the same darkness and needs to know they are not alone in it. He is the angel of creative witness: the one who transforms the lead of experience into a gold that others may hold in their hands and recognize as their own truth.
