Damabiah

Damabiah is the sixty-fifth angel of the Shem HaMephorash. He inaugurates the final choir of the celestial hierarchy — that of the Angels —, the ninth and ultimate order, placed under the guidance of the archangel Gabriel. In the zodiacal distribution inherited from the Christian Kabbalistic tradition, he reigns over 20° to 25° of Aquarius, from February 8 to 13 — at the heart of that winter air when underground waters begin to stir toward the surface. Being the first of a choir carries a particular weight: Damabiah opens the final series of guardians, the one covering the last degrees of the zodiacal cycle through to the end of Pisces.

Tradition attributes to him the gift of practical wisdom granted to those who seek it sincerely. As an angel of inner waters, Damabiah is invoked by navigators — literal and figurative — to cross difficult passages without losing their bearing. Haziel and Ambelain present him as a protector of honest commercial enterprises, an ally for anyone seeking to reconcile material success with moral integrity. He also fosters understanding of natural cycles, inner peace during periods of doubt, and the development of compassion toward vulnerable beings. Some sources also attribute to him a protective role over sea voyages and perilous crossings.

In meditation, Damabiah is the image of the hidden spring: wisdom does not always burst forth dramatically — it rises quietly from the depths of being when one becomes still enough to hear it. To sit in silence at the edge of this inner source is to practice the invocation of Damabiah. His waters dissolve hurry, clarify intentions, and reveal which path truly deserves to be taken. He reminds us that decisions made from depth are always more lasting than those wrenched from the surface of agitation.
