Cahetel is the eighth of the 72 names of the Shem HaMephorash, the last Seraph before the hierarchy shifts to the choir of Cherubim with the following angel. Under Metatron's authority, his zodiacal domain covers 5° to 10° of Taurus, the fixed Earth sign where the seed planted by previous degrees begins to push its first visible roots into the dense and nourishing matter below. Psalm 95 verse 6 — "Come, let us bow down and bend the knee, let us bless the Lord who made us" — resonates perfectly with his nature as guardian of fertility and divine blessing granted to earthly labors.

Cahetel is traditionally the tutelary angel of earthly work and the natural cycles of fecundity. He is invoked by farmers for the blessing of sowings and harvests, by those hoping for conception, by artists and creators in search of abundant and inexhaustible inspiration. Tradition attributes to him the power to drive away evil spirits and harmful influences that contaminate places or persons, acting as a form of purification through divine light that illuminates and cleanses. On the moral plane, he awakens a sense of the sacred in the ordinary daily gestures — cooking, caring, cultivating, blessing one's food — and nurtures a simple, concrete, and unostentatious piety in the face of the mysteries of life.

To meditate upon Cahetel is to practice the art of sincere wonder before the fundamental and vertiginous fact that things grow of themselves, that life perpetuates itself through its own grace, that the seed held in the hand contains in potency the entire tree with all its fruit. In esoteric traditions, fertility is not merely biological: it is the world's capacity to renew itself through divine grace, and the human being's capacity to participate consciously in that renewal by blessing with attention and gratitude everything touched and everything received.

May Cahetel bless the hand that sows and the earth that receives. In his name, every form of fecundity receives the divine light it needs to fully fulfill itself.

How to pray to Cahetel according to tradition
