Elemiah

✡ Tradition and symbolism

Elemiah is the fourth name of the Shem HaMephorash, extracted by the esoteric method from the three Exodus verses each bearing seventy-two letters. A Seraph placed within Metatron's sphere, he reigns over 15° to 20° of Aries, the median portion of this fiery sign where the raw force of beginning starts confronting its own inner limits and the unexamined shadow zones that lie within. His name — Hidden God — signals a power that frequently works where the human gaze does not reach: in the deep strata of the psyche, in unresolved memories, and in the dynamics of destiny that perpetuate themselves underground.

Kabbalistic tradition attributes to him the power to reveal what conceals itself behind appearances: the unconscious motives that orient choices, the accumulated trajectory errors accumulated without intention, the illusions maintained by wounded pride or fear of change. He is the angel invoked when one circles without understanding why, when the same destructive patterns return despite genuine goodwill. He is also credited with the ability to protect travelers — in both literal and metaphorical senses — and to dissolve spells or harmful influences that contaminate a place or a person. His inner virtues are the courage to look at oneself without complacency, and the humility to accept what light reveals, even when what it shows is uncomfortable.

To meditate upon Elemiah is to consent to entering the cave of one's own interiority, where the "hidden" gods wait in fertile darkness. In esoteric symbolism, the hidden divine is not absent — it is present with an intimacy so profound it escapes outward gazes and the ordinary instruments of perception. Elemiah offers this essential discovery: what one anxiously seeks outside is often already there, buried beneath accumulated layers of habit, fear, and the masks the world requires one to wear.

1. Recite its invocation verse, Psalm 6:5.
2. Meditate on its name, preferably during its regency period (April 5 – 9).
3. State an intention related to its domains: revelation, journeys, rebirth, unconscious, protection.
