Sitael holds the third position among the 72 angels of the Shem HaMephorash, those divine names woven into the fabric of the three Exodus verses. Like his predecessors, he belongs to the sublime choir of Seraphim governed by the prince Metatron, and his zodiacal domain covers 10° to 15° of ardent Aries. Tradition associates him with verse 2 of Psalm 91 — "You are my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust" — which perfectly illustrates his protective and constructive nature. In the hierarchy of the 72, he represents the moment when initial impulse seeks lasting form in matter and in time: after the fire of Vehuiah and the relational awareness of Jeliel comes the necessity of building what actually holds.

Sitael is traditionally invoked for construction in the broadest sense: building a stable home, a just institution, a work that spans generations without degrading. He assists architects in designing forms both harmonious and robust, lawmakers in drafting codes that are equitable and lasting, project leaders in the methodical organization of complex enterprises. He is also attributed the power to ward off disloyal adversaries who seek to undermine what is being built, and to protect against betrayal from those close by. On the moral plane, he cultivates a sense of responsibility, rigor in commitments made, and the capacity to honor one's word across time even when fatigue or doubt settle in.

In a meditative reading, Sitael raises the fundamental question of what one truly seeks to build in life — not only in material terms, but in inner space and in the relational fabric surrounding one's existence. What are the deep foundations of one's life? What is the quality of the stones laid day after day? His most resonant symbol is the medieval cathedral builder who plants trees whose shade he will never enjoy: the act performed in deep time, offered to what exceeds the span of a single life.
