Yeialel is the fifty-eighth angel of the Shem HaMephorash, that sacred Name of seventy-two letters drawn from the three strophes of Exodus (14:19–21), pillar of both Hebrew and Christian kabbalistic tradition. Belonging to the choir of Archangels under the direction of Michael — the archangel of strength, protection, and discernment — he inherits a particular power in the domain of the tormented soul. His name, often translated as 'God who hearkens to the generations,' evokes a divine listening that is both deep and unfailingly patient, one that does not tire of hearing the same cries across the centuries.

Kabbalists attribute to him a twofold therapeutic action. On one hand, he calms anger and melancholy — those two states which in traditional medicine as in esoteric thought are considered disorders of the soul that progressively compromise the health of both mind and body. On the other, he strengthens the practitioner against the influence of what the tradition calls 'inner adversaries' — what contemporary psychology would name negative automatic thoughts, rumination spirals, or recurring patterns of affliction that return unbidden. He is also invoked in certain traditions for diseases of the eyes and for the protection of smiths, forgers, and metalworkers — professions deeply anchored in the Earth element of Capricorn, where matter must be mastered through sustained force.

To meditate with Yeialel is to grant oneself permission to recognize anger and sorrow for what they truly are: interior signals pointing to something real that needs attention, not fatalities to be endured or denied. The Earth element of Capricorn invites us not to flee these states into distraction, but to cross them with method and patience, to work them as one works raw ore — with steady heat and a steady hand — until the truth they conceal is extracted. Yeialel does not suppress pain or promise a shortcut; he gives the strength to face it honestly and emerge genuinely transformed rather than merely numbed.
