Lauviah II

Two angels bear the name Lauviah in the Shem HaMephorash: the eleventh, who belongs to the Cherubim and presides over intuitive dreams, and this one, the seventeenth, who belongs to the choir of Thrones. The distinction is fundamental in kabbalistic tradition: the Cherubim transmit Knowledge, while the Thrones, the third angelic hierarchy, are bearers of divine Stability and cosmic Justice, governed here by the archangel Tsaphkiel, whose name means « Contemplator of God » or « Knowledge of God ». This second Lauviah therefore operates at a distinctly higher register, that of mystical contemplation and the revelation of transcendent truths that exceed the ordinary capacities of human understanding.

In the tradition of the 72 angels, Lauviah II is associated with knowledge of divine wisdom inaccessible to ordinary reason — what the mystics call « infused knowledge ». He is the angel of mystical poets, contemplative philosophers, and those who have received a spiritual vocation through the path of waking dream or ecstasy. He confers the gift of penetrating the mysteries of nature at its deepest levels, of accessing levels of cosmic understanding, and of feeling the presence of the Divine as a living and immediate reality rather than an intellectual concept. Within the Air of Gemini, these revelations express themselves naturally through speech, writing, and poetic art.

To invoke Lauviah II is to aspire to elevation — not a flight from the world, but an ascent toward the source in order to descend from it transformed and more useful to others. This angel teaches that the highest truths are not seized by intellectual effort but by silent availability, the abandonment of certainties that block reception. His meditation is particularly suited to moments of spiritual transition, when consciousness senses it is at the threshold of a new understanding, still unspeakable. He invites trust in the movement of elevation that occurs when one ceases to want to control everything.
