Leuviah holds the nineteenth position among the seventy-two divine names drawn from the trigrammatic passage of Exodus 14:19-21, the foundational text of the Shem HaMephorash. This method consists of reading three consecutive Hebrew verses — each counting exactly seventy-two letters — alternating direct, reverse, and direct readings, to extract seventy-two divine trigrams, each designating a guardian angel. Leuviah belongs to the choir of Thrones, whose prince is archangel Tsaphkiel — 'Contemplation of God'. The Thrones are the living vehicles of divine justice tempered by mercy; they transmit the will of the Most High filtered through compassion. Leuviah governs 0° to 5° of Cancer, a lunar water sign that reinforces his receptive and memorial nature. His reference psalm verse is Psalm 40:2, an invocation of patient waiting in trust.

The kabbalistic tradition, as developed by Robert Ambelain in his work on practical Kabbalah, associates Leuviah with the grace extended to the repentant and the blissful expansion of consciousness. His virtues are unshakeable patience, inner joy even in adversity, and fertile memory — the capacity to retain the lessons of experience without being weighed down by regret. He is also attributed with the gift of fostering sincere communication, harmony in human exchanges, and a natural openness to the diversity of beings. Haziel notes that those under his protection often possess remarkable emotional intelligence and a natural aptitude for reconciling opposing parties.

To meditate with Leuviah is to sit at the edge of one's own memory as at the shore of a still lake under the moon. Rather than fleeing what has been lived, the angel invites one to contemplate the reflection in the water — where past and present meet without merging. His frequency resonates with the Cancer moon: inner tides rise and fall, yet the surface of the lake retains its transparency. Where the ego seeks to erase or conceal, Leuviah offers the grace of looking without self-condemnation, of acknowledging without punishing oneself, and of receiving divine mercy as naturally as the return of morning.
