Your 2027 Tarot Year Card
Your birth day and month point to the Major Arcana card that colors your year. Two menus, one card, and a page worth keeping for the next twelve months.
In short
What is a tarot year card?
It is the Major Arcana card you get by adding your birth month and birth day to the year, then adding the digits together until you reach 22 or less. It sets the theme of your year, birthday to birthday or January to December.
The calculation, step by step
- Add your birth month and birth day to 2027. Born on May 12: 5 + 12 + 2027 = 2044.
- Add the digits of the total: 2 + 0 + 4 + 4 = 10.
- While the result is above 22, repeat. Exactly 22 is The Fool (0).
- The number you land on is your card: here 10, Wheel of Fortune.
The method was popularized by American tarot author Mary K. Greer, who uses it to read personal cycles.

2 + 0 + 2 + 7 = 11: the collective card of 2027 is Justice. A year of accounts settled, contracts reread and decisions owned. Your personal card plays on top of that shared backdrop.
Every choice has weight. This year, you hold the scales.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need my birth year?+
No. Only your birth day and month go into the sum, along with the year you want to read. Two people born on the same day twenty years apart share the same year card.
What is the collective tarot card of 2027?+
Justice, card XI: 2 + 0 + 2 + 7 = 11. It colors everyone's year, and your personal card adds to it.
Does it run for the calendar year or birthday to birthday?+
Both readings exist. Many readers use January to December, others go from one birthday to the next. Try the one that fits your rhythm and stick with it.
How is it different from a tarot birth card?+
The birth card adds your full birth date, birth year included, and never changes. The year card changes every year: the year card is the weather, the birth card is the climate.
